Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to frequently asked questions about my artworks
Do you ship internationally?

Yes. My studio is located in Spain but I can ship elsewhere in the world.

Original artworks are shipped internationally via DHL Express, which could reach anywhere in the world in 48-72h.

Art prints are a print-on-demand service and they are shipped either from EEUU or Europe, depending on where are you ordering. Shipping carrier depends on your country. If you order from the United States they are usually sent via USPS.

Please take note that additional customs fees may apply when you pick up the package from the postal service, especially for large original artworks. I have no way of knowing this amount and therefore am not responsible for any customs charges that may be owed.

How do you ship the artworks?

Original paintings

Oil paintings take a substantial amount of time to dry so shipping will not be done until the painting is ready-packaged (3-5 weeks from painting completion).

All artwork is wrapped in paper and sent in a well-fitting sturdy cardboard box.

International shipments will be sent via DHL Express, and most packages arrive within 2-4 days anywhere in the world from the time of shipping (includes tracking & insurance). Shipping charges may vary from the amount you pay at checkout. Please email me with any questions or to get an estimate.

Prints

All prints are carefully handled, packaged in paper or plastic sleeves.

Prints are mailed in a thick cardboard tube.

For US customers prints are shipped via USPS 1st Class Mail or Priority Mail (usually arrives within 1-3 days). For other International Shipments, they are usually shipped by local courier services.

International Shipments

International packages are a bit outside of my control. Border fees, duties, and handling fees may be charged by other countries.

Please note that shipping costs cover fees, packaging supplies, time, labor, and storage.

Do you make custom commissions?

Yes, and a big thank you for showing an interest in my artwork. It is an honor to be able to create something completely unique to you, and exactly the way you want it.

Please contact me and tell me what kind of artwork do you have in mind and we will discuss pricing and other details.

Are your artworks available as prints?

Yes, most of my artworks are also available as prints.

Regular prints

This are Giclee reproductions printed on durable, archival paper with a smooth matte finish. The paper weight is 5.57 oz/y² (189 g/m²).This prints are printed to order by an external printing service and you can purchase as many as you want.

Limited-edition prints

These special prints are numbered editions available only in limited quantities. They are printed in a thick Canson Aquarelle Rag paper (310 g/m²) with a matte textured surface. This kind of print is frequently mistaken for originals.  The prints are cut by hand to avoid damage from a cutter blade/clamps and there is no white border left around the image.

Limited edition Giclee Reproductions are printed to order by a local printing house and take 7-10 days to arrive back in my studio, then I package, and ship them to you asap.

Do you offer Free Shipping?

Yes, delivery is free for any Art Print purchases.

Shipping costs for paintings depends on the size of the painting and the country of destination.

Take note that very large paintings may include additional fees as shipping internationally could be expensive. Please get in touch if you are planning to purchase several pieces of original artwork at the same time so I can offer you a special and more affordable shipping cost.

What is your return and exchange policy?

In the case of a print arriving damaged, please document the damage and get in contact with me as soon as possible.

I will arrange to send you a replacement provided that you cover the shipping and handling costs. Please take note that, once a print has been sent, it is outside my control and I can not be responsible for any damage caused by mishandling by courier services.

Paintings are very carefully packaged and it has never happened that they have been damaged during the shipping process. If that ever happens please contact immediately so we may arrange a solution.

The work I wanted is no longer available – can I commission a similar work?

Depending on the subject it is likely that you can commission a similar artwork so please get in touch if the work you love is no longer available!

Is a certificate of authenticity provided?

All original artworks for sale on Rugidoart come with a certificate of authenticity that is signed by the artist (Rubén Megido). Furthermore, all limited-edition prints are numbered and signed too.
