A new painting is coming, my precious!

This last Christmas I watched all the movies from «The Lord of the Rings» trilogy (the extended versions, nothing less!), and since it´s been a while since I painted anything related to Middle-Earth I thought it would be a good idea to make a new painting.

As my previous artworks were some small format landscapes (which, someday I hope to make in a larger format) I opted this time for a bigger canvas.

There are many interesting subjects to paint and certainly, Gandalf and the Balrog are a must but…let´s start with someone smaller isn´t we, my precious?

Gollum is a fascinating character who is as repulsive as pitiful and I prefer his kinder aspect as Smeagol so I think I am going for a scene in which he is happy rather than creepy or menacing.
